NOTES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

This year, we want to bring the spirit of Purim to our whole community -- even the grumpy, super-serious, and fun-deprived among us. Even those who have been serious for so long that they would come to a Purim celebration without even a silly hat or a string of beads. Luckily, we have a hidden resource to combat this gloom. You can help by contributing from your Bat/Bar Mitzvah stash! Do you have giant sunglasses, inflatable feet, beads, hats, or masks? Just sitting around your house collecting dust? Well, you can help us by dropping them off at the Temple Emunah office. We'll redistribute them to those in need on Purim. Are we serious? No, of course not...this is Purim we're talking about! But, the collection is real, and the Religious Committee thanks you for your help.

While Rabbi Lerner is on Sabbatical through the end of February, his email (

) will go directly to his secretary, Maria Espinoza. She will forward messages to Rabbi Fel or Amy Zaslow, or save matters that can wait until Rabbi Lerner's return in March. Rabbi Lerner's voicemail messages will not be checked. Religious and pastoral issues will be handled by Rabbi Fel. Administrative matters will be handled as usual by Amy Zaslow. If you have an urgent need, please call Rabbi Fel or Amy Zaslow directly.

Hooray for Jewish overnight camping! CJP has generously accepted us into the Camping Initiative for yet another year. Any child interested in going to a Jewish overnight camp for the first time next summer can apply for a $1,000 grant! Please contact Arielle Russell for more info.

The Kitchen Committee always welcomes volunteers to help in the kitchen for Shabbat kiddushim. If you are able to help, please email Janet Goldberg or call her at 617-489-7175.
