Family Shabbat Dinners

Family Shabbat Dinners and their accompanying services include a traditional Shabbat meal, games and activities appropriate for all ages, and a fun and inclusive family Kabbalat Shabbat service. While these events are typically geared toward families with children in a particular age range, the entire community is always welcome -- there's never a bad time to join in the fun. (And take the day off from cooking!)

Families

Family programs at Temple Emunah seek to encourage spiritual and religious growth in families as well as assist families in building connections and community within Temple Emunah. Family Education programs strive to enable parents to strengthen themselves as the Jewish educators of their children and to assist families in observing Jewish tradition within the home.

Family Minyan

Family Minyan meets at 10:30 on the third Shabbat of the month (please check the Temple calendar for exact dates). This is a one hour-long, child-friendly abbreviated traditional Shabbat service. Family Minyan engages both parents and children by combining core elements of the traditional liturgy with joyful singing and activities.

Tot Shabbat

Tot Shabbat meets at 10:30 on first Shabbat of the month (please check the Temple calendar for exact dates). This service is a one-hour long celebration of Shabbat with singing and dancing intended for toddlers, preschoolers and their parents.

Darshan Mentor Program

Every Bar or Bat Mitzvah is expected to deliver a d'var torah, an exploration of some aspect of their parashah. Darshan Mentors are lay members of the Temple who volunteer to work with B'nai Mitzvah candidates on this exploration.

Family Education
