TEMPLE EMUNAH EVENTS
On Thursday Evenings March 11 and 18, at 7:30 PM, The Jewish Theological Seminary, with Congregation Mishkan Tefila, Temple Emanuel, and Temple Emunah, presents: Beyond the Afikomen: What Else Has Been Hiding in Your Passover Seder? March 11 with Dr. Amy Kalmanofsky, and March 18, with Rabbi David Hoffman. Dr. Kalmanofsky's topic will be "The Bible's Garden of Earthly Delights: The Song of Songs and Pesach." The class will be held at Mishkan Tefila, 300 Hammond Pond Parkway, Chestnut Hill. Cost is $50. To register, email Linna Ettinger.
On Thursday, March 11, there will be a Healing Service at 6:45 PM, followed by a special Meditative Ma'ariv Service beginning at 7:30 PM. Participants will have an opportunity to reflect together for a short time after the service. You are welcome to join us just for Ma'ariv. The Healing Service and Meditative Ma'ariv will be co-led by Rabbi Lerner and Rabbinic Intern Michael Silbert. Please e-mail Michael Silbert if you are interested in attending.
Join us for Keruv Shabbat, on March 13 at 9:30 AM. In keeping with theme of Emunah 50, members of our congregation will explore changes at Temple Emunah over the past decades. Sylvia Schatz: The Changing Roles for Women, Julie Greenberg: Interfaith Marriage, Kate Hermann: Same-sex Couples. The next Shabbat Morning Meditation is next Shabbat March 13, from 9:15 - 10:00 AM in the Small Chapel. There will also be sessions on April 10 and May 1. During our meditation, we have guided meditation, silent meditation, niggunim (tunes without words), and brief teaching on the Torah portion. "Community Conversations Continued: Creating Connections", Sunday March 14, 2:00 - 5:00 PM, at Temple Emunah. Did you participate in one of the 20 Community Conversations last summer? Are you wondering about what has happened as a result? Did you miss the opportunity to participate? Not sure what a Community Conversation is? Over 200 congregants got together at informal house meetings last summer to share their thoughts and ideas about what makes a community and why communities matter to us. Here's your chance to continue the conversation -- or to join us for the first time -- as we reflect and build on what we learned from each other at these house meetings. Lexington Rabbinical Panel, March 17, at Temple Emunah, from 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM, with snacks at 7:45 PM. Join Rabbi Alti Bukiet of Chabad of Lexington, Rabbi Howard Jaffe of Temple Isaiah, and Rabbi David Lerner, as they discuss "Living as a Jew in the Modern World: Shabbat, Kashrut and the Holidays".
Join us on March 20 for Sisterhood Shabbat. Services will be led by the women of our Sisterhood, and our speaker this year will be Dr. Stephen Morse, and internationally renowned expert on Jewish Genealogy. Dr Morse has won numerous awards for his acheivements and has developed research tools providing interfaces to the Ellis Island and 1930 Census data bases.
On Sunday morning March 21 at 9:45 AM, the Sisterhood and 55+ Club are sponsoring a breakfast with Dr. Stephen Morse, who will speak on "From DNA to Genetic Genealogy - Everthing you wanted to know but were afraid to ask". Wednesday Morning Study - Over a light breakfast, Rabbi Lerner and Rabbi Jacobs teach about the Halakhah (Jewish legal) and spiritual aspects of prayer. This year are studying the laws of Birkhot ha-Shahar (morning blessings) and other laws and customs regarding our prayer practices. Join us each week after minyan for breakfast and learning. Minyan is 7:00 AM -7:30 AM and breakfast follows from 7:35 AM - 8:15 AM.

JFCS Family Table has asked our congregation to provide 50 boxes of macaroons for their March 14th Passover distribution day. It's a mitzvah to feed the hungry at Passover, so please consider picking up an extra box when you do your holiday shopping. In addition to our Passover commitment, JFCS Family Table still relies on our monthly donation of 100 boxes of crackers and 100 two-pound bags of rice.
