All adults are invited to a screening of the film Who Will Write Our History, on Sunday, May 5, starting at 7:30 PM in the Rubinovitz Social Hall, a true story of a clandestine group of journalists, scholars, and community leaders in the Warsaw Ghetto who defied the Nazis with the ultimate weapon – the truth – and risked everything so that their archive would survive the war, even if they did not. Now, for the first time, their story is told in the documentary featuring the voices of three-time Academy Award® nominee Joan Allen and Academy Award® winner Adrien Brody.
Who Will Write Our History is told from the point of view of Oyneg Shabes members. In addition to Ringelblum, the “main characters” of the film will be Rachel Auerbach, Rabbi Shimon Huberman and Abraham Lewin. The story of the Archive and of the Warsaw Ghetto will be woven together from their writings. Their powerful, in-the-moment, eyewitness reporting from Hell is given voice in the film by actors. This film is being sponsored by the Temple Sisterhood and is free to attend. Please note that this film discusses the Holocaust, and may not be appropriate for children. Parents should use discretion. Please RSVP to Jodie Parmer. FLYER
