Dear friends,
Wherever you go, there’s always someone Jewish! All are invited to join the Sisterhood’s screening of Nafkot – Yearning on Sunday, May 4 at 4:45 pm in the Social Hall. The movie will be followed by an Ethiopian dinner.
On Monday, May 5 at 2 pm, there will be a follow-up discussion with the producer, Malka Shabtay, over Zoom. All dinner participants will receive the link. It will be a wonderful opportunity to learn about our siblings in Ethiopia.
RSVP by emailing Joelle Gunther at joellegunther@gmail.com by February 10 at 5 pm. This event is open to the entire Temple Emunah community, and is $18 per person. You must register to attend.
Filled with breathtaking images, Nafkot – Yearning is a fascinating look at an isolated Ethiopian Jewish community through the lens of an Israeli anthropologist and activist who travels to Ethiopia to meet and document this hidden Jewish group. You can watch the trailer here.
