One of the main elements of the holiday is the full removal of all leavened products from your possession. Hametz is defined as any product from wheat, barley, rye, oats, or spelt which was allowed to rise (i.e. bread, crackers, etc.). This is accomplished in two ways: outright disposal of all hametz products or the sale of your hametz to a person who is not Jewish. If you would like Temple Emunah to organize the sale of your hametz, please fill out this form by April 8 to appoint Rabbi Lerner as your sale representative.

When you sell your hametz, it is traditional to participate in the mitzvah of donating Ma’ot Hittim (wheat money) to help those in need to buy kosher for Passover foods and to combat hunger in general.

Are you planning on hosting and have extra space at your table? Do you need a place to go for Passover this year? Please participate in our Seder Matching and we will do our best to accommodate everyone. Deadline for matching is April 8th. Click here to sign up!

Preparing for Pesah can be daunting! See this document to access a thorough and helpful guide created by Exploring Judaism on how to prepare your home, kitchen, and family for this important holiday.

Passover is just around the corner! Get ready for the holiday at Temple Emunah. Water plays an integral role in the Passover story, from Moses being placed safely in a basket and set adrift in the Nile to the crossing of the sea! Families with young children are invited to Passover Bubble Fun focused on water! We will begin with fun Passover crafts and activities and welcome Bubbles McGee for an interactive show about bubbles!

This event is FREE and open to all. We can’t wait to celebrate Passover with you! This event is supported in part by a grant from the Lee L. and Judith E. Selwyn Foundation.
